Hi,

Only just became a member on this forum. 10 years ago we emigrated to New Zealand and took our 1978 13 Super Sport with us. Originally bought brand new in the Netherlands in 1978 she has been all over Europe and North Africa. Served as a tender for the family sailing yacht at the time. When the time came to replace her I convinced my parents not to do so. So from 1988 until 5 years ago she was mine. Then she got stolen. Some villains took her, trailer and all, never to be found again. Dark days they were.
Anyway, never lost the love for these iconic "greats".

I was wondering if anyone has attempted to make a CAD model of the 13's hull (or has some drawings). If so I really would like to hear from it.

From a warm NZ,

Have a nice day everyone.

Do you mean for the purpose of replicating a a Whaler? People have tried that and were slapped with a lawsuit.

I winter in Ft. Myers and summer in St. Joseph, Michigan. It’s now about 12 years since I’ve joined this group. I gave my 1972 whaler to my daughter and sold the 17’. Bought an O’Day 28 sailboat and sailed on Lake Michigan. Yesterday I bought a 2005 130 Sport.

No, not for replicating one for real. Would probably be more expensive anyway. I like to tinker with hull design software and this would be a neat project for the coming winter evenings. As far as being afraid of a lawsuit. I don't think anyone from BW will travel half the world for that purpose. They'd better give me one for free - be a lot cheaper than a lawyer, hotels and airline fees ! LOL

Perhaps Wing failed to read your original post. Regardless I don't think you were asking for legal assistance and don't need any.

I know where you are coming from. If the Whaler had a pad to override the poor high speed design of the 13 hull it would be awsome.
