Hello Everyone,
I am new here to the Whaler Central community and I am looking for prop. advice for a 2000 13 sport boston whaler. I recently purchased the boat back in july and it came equipped with the 30 HP Mercury 2 Stroke engine 2.0 gear ratio that was commonly used for the 2000 model year. Does anyone know what the stock prop size was for this motor? The boat runs great with a light load, however; whenever the boat has three on more people on board it is impossible to get it up on plane (3500 RPM).
With 1 or 2 people on board the haul will do about 28 mph at 5200 RMP (6gallon fuel tank). The boat does has bottom paint if that matters at all... Currently the prop is a 10 point something by 14" stainless steel pitch.
I recently purchased the below two props as replacements when I have 3 or more people on board:
Quicksilver Black Diamon RH 10 7/8 X 11" pitch Aluminum 3 Blade Prop
as well as a
Vortex Aluminum 4 Blade 11.5 dia x 10" pitch SR - Michigan Wheel
I went down an inch with the pitch on the 4 blade...
Let me know what you think is ideal for water tubing and cruising with 3-4 people on board.
I plan on using the current prop. whenever I am out and about by myself fishing...
Thank you for your help in advance. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am obviously a noob here.
