The Motor is in the shop The 40 HP Merc has 1 cylinder @125psi and 1 @ 100 which is a little low but will work fine. They found a bit of water in the oil tank but went through everything and replaced all the hoses and water pump impeller. So it wont be long. Will 3M work for a sealant when I remount the motor? 1985 Super Sport 15' - 1989 Mercury 40 HP

I have not had problems (have removed the engine several times since); however, others have (gel coat pulled of when engine removed) and so they advocate a polysulfide sealant rather than an adhesive sealant like 3M 4200. 1976 Sport 15 w/ 2005 50hp Nissan 2 stroke
