I have not pulled up the info yet but when discussing other topics with an E-tec tech he mentioned that information on the new motor is released. Not just a couple of tweaks. New design. Looking forward to reading about it.

According to the brochure, the 90 HP is 390 pounds! Seems awfully heavy.

Wow, that is ugly, and even with the options you have to change the inserts to numerous different colors, its still ugly. Maybe you could try lipstick.

You may be confusing the standard 3-cylinder 90 hp of 320# and the more powerful V-4 90 HO that weighs 390#

To each their own, but lipstick on a pig is still a pig. :-)

I actually like the look, and 500 hours with no service is pretty nice.

Looks like they are still going to keep the older 90hp 3 cylinder model around and added the 90hp 4 cylinder HO model which weighs more.

Yes, you are exactly right. I thought they were replacing the 3 cylinder.

I have added the 90 H.O. hp to the list of 16/17 motor choices.
http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...ticle_id=5

The Mercury 75 and 90 are still the heaviest with the Evinrude 90 H.O. in second place.

I read the brochure and noticed the 90 HO is a V-6; is that correct or a typo?

jharrell,

Where in the world did you get the 359 pounds from?

I took Larry's word for it in the post I provided a link too.

Here is the official press release stating 20lbs lighter than the next lightest 4-stroke (assuming 115):

http://www.mercurymarine.com/news-and...oke-outbo/

It is annoying when manufacturers don't update their website with released products. I still don't think ICON gauges can be found on the Evinrude website, only I-command years after release.

If you just use the evinrude link that Joe posted back near the beginning of this thread on EVINRUDE engines, and then scroll down to the bottom of the page, there is a section there called "Parts and Accessories". In it, you will find the link to the ICON gauges page.

I agree with Joe, Does anybody actually read these pages before they post? I would add, does anybody actually read anything before they post?
