Hello,

Just curious if anyone had a line on a used backrest cushion for a '85 Montauk. I'm not excited about covering up that beautiful Teak and I always stand when running, but my passengers are complaining and I think I need to try and find one.

Call Halls and order one. It will be the best money you have ever spent. I love mine and while I first though it made it uncomfortable to sit on the RPS, I am so glad I got one.

Go to a local upholsterer you can have the whole seat done for about $350.00, Thats what I did for my 1989 Newport,

Does anyone have a picture they could post of the Halls RPS cushion? If it's no thicker than the cooler or bow cushion, then I might consider it. Like so many others I invest a lot of time & pride in my teak, but I'm strapping a throw cushion to the RPS for my bride for her back comfort. Ironically, I've repaced every other cushion on A Little Madness in the past year w/Halls but never thought of the RPS. At 6'4", I sit most of the time. I just wish Halls had pictures.

A local upholsterer can make the seat ANY thickness that you want, I upgraded to 2" foam at the suggestion of the upholsterer, I sit a bit higher now, and the seat is WAY more comfortable, If your fishing buddies complain about the seat, inform them that there is a spot on the dock locking elbows with other anglers there, that should put the "KY-BOSH" on the complaints Wink

I will add a photo of the cushion to my personal page later today. It is slightly thicker than the cooler cushions. I can measure and send you an email this weekend if you want.

Kamie,

Thanks that would be great. I did submit an inquiry into Hall's last night. I haven't heard back from them yet, but the price seemed reasonable. Thanks!
