I recently bought a 1991 17' L.E.S., a governmental variant of the Montauk hull. The hull weighs 1100 lbs rather than the standard 950 lbs. The boat is powered by a 1989 2-stroke 90hp Yamaha. The propeller on the engine is aluminum and a bit dinged up, though perfectly useable for now. I am, however, considering replacing it at some point (keeping it as a "get me home" backup), and am looking for recommendations.
My usage will be a fairly even mix of inshore/near-shore fishing and pulling kids on skis, wakeboards, tubes. I'm not looking for an ultra-high peformance prop, rather one that can efficiently and effectively multitask. Given my usage, I would say that getting up onto a plane and sustaining bite through turns is probably more important than top speed, though I don't want to give up too much.
Any suggestions/recommendations for brand, type, size, pitch, etc.?
