As a new whaler (and for that matter, first boat) owner, I hope that you do not tire from the many questions that will no doubt appear on these pages in the future. Reading the posts have opened my eyes to resources and methods that only first hand experience can offer.
I'm a proud owner of of a 1972 13' Sport and have a couple of questions about proper spacing for the bunks on a boatlift. I've read that BW recommends any storage or trailoring be accomplished so that the hull is fully supported by the keel and bunks used as sideways support. I currently have a 1500 lbs PWC/skiff lift with 6 foot bunks. The way these bunks were placed upon installation have them approx 3 feet apart.
The problems I have are:
1. The boat is not being supported by the keel.
2. Very hard to find the right "channel" in the hull to align the bunks with the rear chine alignment
