Folks,

In the final stages of a total re-work. Splashed the hull for the first time this weekend and very pleased. 1988 175 HP Mariner runs very well. With current 14" x 16" 3 blade prop, literally launches onto step but over-revs badly. Momentarily saw 43 mph @ 7100 rpm w/ mild trim (not ventilating).

A more sane 5100 rpm gives 32 mph (GPS) @ 8.5 gph trimmed in smooth water.

Numbers say she needs ~21" prop for good cruise (main mission). Stainless is a no brainer.

Other recommendations?

3 or 4 blade?

Thanks in Advance!
