We left the mouth of the Caloosahatchee River at 11 am and made it to dinner at Martin's Marina in Clewiston for a late dinner taking our time to sightsee along the way. We left Clewiston after a late breakfast the next morning and leisurely made it to the other side by 3PM.
On the return trip we left at (AM and went straight through with a stop for lunch and fuel and made it home by 8PM.
I highly recommend this trip for a great look at "true Florida, unchanged.

Robert,
Thank you for sharing. I looked up the plot of "The Lions Paw" and think I'll find a copy (still a kid in heart). I remember reading "Treasure Island" and closing my eyes and imagining going back to the island for left behind treasure. Good for you and your trip.
