I just took our "new to us" Outrage 19 out for trials. The boat worked very well but I have a propeller question. Currently the boat has an Apollo 14-1/8 X 20 four blade stainless steel prop.
At 5000' altitude at full throttle the 150 Mercury BlackMax engine is turning 5500+ RPM and 42.7 MPH by the GPS. Anyone out there have any suggestions for me?
We are planning on taking the boat out to the Channel Islands (Pacific Ocean) in the near future. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Rick in Carson City, Nevada.

That is not a good propeller for you at either altitude.
5000 feet of elevation will result in the loss of 20 to 25 HP and 3 or 4 MPH of top speed. That boat should do 48-48 MPH at sea level and I would expect it to do 44-45 at 5000 ft.
I recommend you try a 14-1/4" x 19" Stiletto Advantage or a 13-3/4" x 20" Mercury Enertia
