I recently was given this great boat & don't even know the model. It's a 17' Whaler that needs work. I thought when I registered it I could find out, no such luck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

On the left sidebar, click Photo Galleries, and then Whaler Model/Year Index. That's your best place to start. Because of the year 1967, it wouldn't be a Montauk, which didn't come out until the 70's, but I believe the Montauk was the same hull. Could be an Eastport, a Currituck, or a Nauset. Here's a picture of a '66 Nauset (click to enlarge)

Note: we don't have pictures of all the models. For example, the 17' Sport Models (1963-83) lists zero pictures. The 17' models are the same hull as the 16' models (actual length, I think, is 16'7") BW just called the hull a 16 in its earlier versions.

Did you try to post a picture of yours? If so, don't use the "quick reply" window, use "post reply", which has an option to "Browse" for a picture on your computer to upload. Note the limitation on file sizes. Or you can click the "img" button to point to a picture already somewhere on the internet.

Fix her up and enjoy her. She's a classic!

If you can find the white stenciled hull # on your boat, I think on the inside of the transom on 16`7" hulls, hopefully your boat hasn`t been repainted, you can e-mail Chuck Bennett at Boston Whaler and he can give you all the details on your hull, sometimes even the dealer that sold it.

if it has a wooden console than it is a nauset or an eastport if it has a fiberglass montauk style console than it is a montauk, if it does have a fiberglass console it is not original because the montauk didnt start production untuil 71
