My buddy had same supersport with a 40 Merc $ stroke which has almost same weigt as the F 50 of Yamaha 4 stroke. JUST DO IT, you won´t regret it, it makes boating more fun! regards.

Member Personal Page Posts: 140 Comments: 1 Joined: 08/25/07	The 40-60 ETEC's (2 stroke) weigh in at @ 240# and the Yamaha 40-60hp 4-strokes weigh in at 183 (4 stroke 40hp) and 237# for the 50-60hp 4 stroke. The 50 hp Yamaha 2 stroke is a steal at 189#. I really don't know why those dang 40-60 ETEC's are so heavy. However, when OMC was in bidness, their 40-60 hp 2 cyl engines weighed in at 180-190# and ran forever. But, if the new 2 cyl ETEC is 50 pounds heavier, so what ??? How much is it really going to matter to you waterline? One inch ? Either one will serve you well. It all depends on which color you like ! I like ................BLUE !!!
