15' whaler with a 60HP Yamaha 2-stroke.
Please help me understand how my motor is mounted and the best way to go about raising it...
I've read many topics on this...and probably more confused now that when i started...
**Pls see photos of engine in my personal page....thanks!**
- Would like to raise the motor up one notch....but confused on the lower engine mounts..
- Dumb question...but how are the lower bolts mounted to the engine?
- I'm guessing if i raise the engine a notch, new holes will need to be drilled...??
Thanks for any input...

I just did this.
See here http://www.whalercentral.com/userphot...lbum_id=64 and here http://www.whalercentral.com/forum/vi...rowstart=0.
Can you provide a picture of the engine as it is currently mounted so we can see the position and what bolt holes are currently used?

You will not be able to raise the motor just one hole.
You will have to raise it 2 holes up by drilling the Green holes in the link below.
http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...icle_id=82
wlagarde shows the process in his project album.
You will also need to fill the lower "Blind" holes that your motor is mounted in now.
It is simple and straight forward.
1. Measure both inside and outside the transom for the "Green" holes to make sure the inside bolts and washers will clear the bottom of the splashwell. (see the diagram on the link above)
2. Drill the "Green" holes.
3. Fill the "Blind" holes.
4. Remount the motor 2 holes up.

roymiz - I don't see a link to your personal page. Have you set it to active?

OK - It's as Joe says and entails exactly what I did. You will need to raise the engine two holes. Remove the engine, fill the blind holes, drill the green holes and remount the engine.
