1984 22' Outrage
1996 Yamaha 225HP SSII

This motor has a 15x17 Aluminum prop on it now, but it's worn and chipped pretty bad. I'm looking to go stainless. What's the best prop for this setup?

(moderator note: had to remove links as [IMG] does not work in the forum areas)

I don't know about "best prop" but a very good and easy to find prop for that boat/motor combination is the 15-1/4"x 19" Mercury MIRAGEplus.

The motor should be mounted two holes up on the transom.

Would I need a hub converter to make that work?

Like virtually ALL modern large outboard propellers, this one uses a hub kit, if that is what you mean.

It's mounted through the second hole from top. Only one hole exposed above. This correct?

No, that is only one hole up.
Tom recommends two holes up.

See this article we have on Outboard Motor Rigging.
