I have a 1975 Whaler, 16/17 ft?? Id call it a custom because it doesn't have all original parts, it has the small anchor locker, and number been painted over, so I dunno what stencil it is.

any who.

What part is this in the pciture of the carb, its black plastic fitting for the fuel line to connect to it, it has a small hole in it.

Can that be why my motor wont run idle in gear in the water, but idle in gear on ear muffs? hole in that piece is leaking fuel.

Also I found a broken wire its black/green?? It has red tape/heat shrink on it in picture, connects to main engine harness and then traced it to another harness tying it to the stator/fly wheel, the other side of that plug/harness goes to power pack.

What does this wire do? Can it be the cause of my instant stall when I go into gear in the water?

If i give it hard throw into gear an get to around 1500 rpm it wont stall andruns amasing WOT and anything above say 1500 rpm. Or else it stalls. Really anooying to b at the boat ramp as well as putting it on trailer with no idle in gear.

compression is 115 all around and good spark. thanks.

I will put pics on my personal page at the bottom. the other whaler on there i sold already an havent uploaded any new photos of my new one, cuz ive been busy with the engine and the new baby, im also a navy submariner.

i will also try to post them here.
