I'm looking for some input on a prop. I have a 2009 Yamaha 70TLR on my 1968 16''7", which is mounted two holes up. I don't have a prop yet, and I've never run this boat with this motor. I am getting ready to splash the boat after a lengthy refit and have combed through the threads containing relevant advice.
Based on previous discussions herein, I was thinking of a Stiletto stainless advantage 13.25 X 17, but it just looks big and heavy to me when I had the chance to handle one in person, which is hardly a scientific conclusion. Does anyone with a 70TLR on their 16 or 17 have some experience or suggestions? I recall some have gone with 15, 17, and even 19 inches of pitch.
Jim,
I have a 1993 70 hp tlr on a 1993 15 Dauntless and I'm using a Turbo Flats X ....13.25 x 16 -4 blade with a 4 inch setback and I can get 5970 rpm with two people aboard. I've had six on board and she gets on plane with no struggle at all!! Setup is perfect!!
