How do i found out a realistic price on a whaler. I have a 18 in Dallas (about a 8 hour drive one way) which looks to be in pretty good shape with a very clean motor and trailer and their asking 11,500. A hurting Unit that Dan looked at for me was 19500, and it needed a ton of work. So, where's the best place to go to find out prices? Or is there such a thing like NADA which covers them. One thing i've found is they very wildly with the higher prices being in the N.E. and CA, and lower prices in Fla and La.
Good question but it is very hard to answer with any accuracy.
Nada book prices are way too low for Boston Whalers.
As you have noticed, prices vary from different parts of the country.
Maybe others here will give you their opinion so here is mine.
Rule of thumb for me for an average Outrage 18' would be $10k to $15k with original single engine and running good. Of course the price will vary on condition of the entire boat and whether it has a newer motor.
I know the word "average" is a variable and everyone has a different opinion of average.
Look at it like a car... What is an average condition car in your opinion?
Good paint? Bad paint? Bald tires? New tires? etc...
If things are broken, butchered up or missing, the price goes down.
NADA Posts values however, they are completely off base with the fair market est prices.
I have found BucValu to have the most accurate values on hulls. The free service will only get you values on the hull if so you can add on value of a used motor and trailer.
