Just put in my Revenge with twin yamaha 200hp hpdi's. When I went to go in in reverse neither engine would shift into gear then the same was true when I went to forward. Looked under the couling and saw the cables moving freely in and out of gears. Not sure what is happening, I am still a rookie and learning. It just seems odd both engines are acting the same way. They were winterized by a dealer last fall. I know he had the props off. They are counter rotating, would mixing up the props cause this effect? Thanks.
Its either an adjustment, or your cables need to be replaced. disconnect the shift cables from the engine and see if you can shift the engine into gear in and out by hand at the engine. then shift the cables using the shifter arm but not connected, see if they move freely ...good luck
