I recently purchased a MINT 1998 15' supersport with a 1988 Merc 70 engine...fresh water only, low hours. I am tapping into the "Whaler Central" knowledge base in search of an educated suggestion on which is the best propeller for good performance mid to top end. I will be installing a tach in the near future but don't have any speed/rpm info at this time. Current propeller is a 3 blade aluminum 17" pitch. I would like to go with a 3 blade stainless propeller with more prop blade cup for more lift. Any suggestions? Anyone have experience with this hull and horsepower combo?

13-1/4" x 17" Stiletto Advantage/Turbo 1 or a Yamaha Performance Series 3 Blade.

Mercury does not make the Laser II in a low enough pitch to be used on this boat.

I have a 70 Yamaha on my 15. I run a stock stainless 17 pitch Yamaha prop nothing special. I went to a 19 and lost hole shot and gained nothing on wot. speed is 42 mph.

brother in law has 15 footer with 88 Johnson. gets to max speed much quicker but guess what,,,, 42 mph.

Get a nice 17 stainless. Don't overspend. its going to run out great. I tell everyone my 15 footer feels like a corvette on the water. quick and tight. and 42 mph that close to the water feel much faster.
