I thought you all would like to know that Bob Dougherty turned 83 yesterday. And he's still coming in to work.

A remarkable man with a unique record of boating achievements. I would love to meet him and talk about the classic whalers. Not sure if you see him (sounds like you might work with him??). If so, wish him a Happy Birthday and thank him for shaping Whaler history.

A person named Henry Smith, who worked closely with Bob Doherty when Doherty arrived at Boston Whaler circa 1961, celebrated his 78th birthday on 2 May 2013. Henry used to sign his nickname "Smitty" on every BW13 hull as a quality control measure, following inspection at the end of the production line, from 1962-1971.

Also, while not a BW employee, Fred Caldwell, of CMI marine, celebrated his 73rd Birthday on 04 May 2013.

Both Henry and Fred are both still working. Henry repairs Boston Whalers with his son. And Fred supplies those precious stainless steel rails and hardware. Happy birthday to Henry and Fred!
