Could I get pictures of any Boston Whaler 16' trailers from the 1960's or early 1970's? I am currently restoring my trailer and would like to know if it is indeed the original trailer. Knowing that would really help me out.

Thanks!

There are probably not very many surviving from the '60's. I have a 1963 Sakonnet that I bought in 1971 on the original trailer, I think. That trailer disintregated over a 20 year period, but I remember it was a tilt type trailer. I'll check to see if I have any photos.

I have the original trailer under my 1968. Where can I send the pictures?

Chris

If it's the one on your personal page it's probably an original tilt trailer. I don't believe the factory matched the trailer to the boat they way they do now, it was pretty much up to the local dealer. If it is in good shape, i would replace the wheel bearings and the tires and the rollers if it has any and go with it.
