I have a 1998 mariner 50hp 3 cyl that had been sitting and I was wondering what some suggestions were on what is the most efficient motor oil and gear oil?
Should I stick with mercury/quicksilver for everything?
I read a few threads about amsoil gear oil being really high quality stuff
As a practical matter, it won't make a lick of difference so long as you use the right grade, but if it were me, I'd just use the Mercury/Quicksilver oil and not worry about it.
Quicksilver branded oil is slightly less expensive than Mercury branded oil and it is exactly the same. Amsoil is not any better.
