I have just bought my first BW. Outrage V22- Year not confirmed yet.

I have noticed that there appears to be a drainage hole in the bottom of the front compartment but the compartent had water in it so I assume it is blocked.

Does this pipe connect to the sump in the next hatch? This hole feels like it is blocked or the pipe is crushed.

Is there any method of clearing the pipe?

Graham,
You should have a Thru-Hull drain tube that uses a removable plug to drain the water out or not let water in when the plug is inserted.

It sounds like something is stuck in the brass drain tube.

Thanks Jo.

Some more details the boat is marked as a V-22 with a HIN 012 June 82, Boat is in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Love to find out how it got here.

Ok more problems. I can not find an outlet on the hull. The drain tube in the anchor locker looks to be a plastic pipe. I also have found water in the cable tunnel and it has not drained into the rear sump, another blockage? The only drain I can recognise is the ball valve on the transom. Is there such a thing as a plan for the boats so I can trace the drain lines?

Graham : Check out continuouswave.com. There is a ton of posts regarding drain tube replacement. I have a Revenge 22 1985 and have removed and filled in 2 drain tubes. I still cannot believe that there were 7 through hull drain tubes. I know it is the Outrage hull, but 4 of them were under the Cuddy? The two removed the brass had corroded through exposing the foam to sea water. As a short term I coated the remaining with 5200.
