I am not familiar with the different models of Whalers but like the 15' size. Whalers are the preferred boats in SE Alaska where I live. I am looking at a 15' Dauntless and wondering how that particular style hull rides and handles through choppy seas. It seems to have more freeboard than other 15'er styles. I would like to avoid pounding which is what 13'ers are famous for here.
There are a few small, repaired fiberglass nicks in the hull but other wise it looks pretty clean. Any advise there on what to look for to determine whether the integrity has been compromised?
Does anyone know what years that this model was manufactured.
It has a 75 hp Merc on it. Will this be enough to pull a 220# guy on a wakeboard?

Not Sure about the 15' Dauntless, it does have a deep V and may be better than a Montauk in rough water. I have 17FT. The 75 Merc should do OK with a wake boarder, even at 220LBs. A deep water start with salom skier may be a different story. It is really all about the prop. lower pitch= more power. As side note I pulled a 170LBS wake boarder up off a 15 aluminum jon boat with a 25 HP Yamaha . People on shore watching all clapped when he got up...
