The project on my "entry level" 1969 17footer is going well. My boat came with a questionable 1986 Yamaha 115. The whole power trim unit was missing. I've been shopping craigslist.com and ebay for a trim unit or maybe a blown motor for parts, and have been tempted at times with a few ads for complete setups, like a used Merc 90, to switch it out. (I find that outboards come cheaper if you're willing to haul off a boat along with the motor!)
My question is: Are there aftermarket trim units that will work for my old Yamaha? Also, if in your travels, you run across a trim unit for my Yamaha, would you shoot me a message?
