Winter and not being able to run the boat until May/June. So I ended up looking for a stainless steel propeller.
Motor is new so I haven't been able to try it yet with the standard alu prop.
I found an ad on some used Trophy Plus 4-blade propeller. 17", 18", 19" with good prices.
Is the Trophy Plus a good combination with a 1997 Montauk 17 and the new Suzuki DF90A?
If it is, are there any ideas of which pitch I should choose of those above?
Does anyone have the same or similar boat/engine set up as I have? So I could get some info which pitch on a 3-blade SS or alu that works good.
I understood that with a 4-blade prop I should choose a lower pitch (1-2") than with 3-blade, is that correct?
Does any one know if I will lose a lot in WOT with a Trophy Plus compared to a 3-blade?
Will it be less slip?
How is the Trophy Plus compared to other 4-blade props ?
I'm also interested in knowing which pitch works good for a 3-blade SS if that opportunity shows up.

I want a good overall performance and of course better then the standard alu prop. Also want to be able to pull a skier (one ski) with at least 3 people on board.
Normal load is a family: 2 adults plus two children 4-8 year, about 420 pounds I guess and light load (no heavy extra equipment).
Once in a while a couple of friends or grandparents joins (about another 300-350 ponds) plus fuel of course.

No, not necessarily. It depends on exactly which models of propeller you are talking about.
Suzuki does not even offer a four blade propeller for the DF90A. The Mercury Trophy Plus is a Bass Boat propeller and not one I would recommend for a classic Montauk, but there would be no harm in trying one. Of the three pitches mentioned, only the 19" would work for the Trophy Plus.
Because of the lower gear ratio of the Suzuki, it will be more sensitive to pitch change so it would be best to test the motor with the propeller you have now to see how it does, speed & RPM. Once you have some baseline data, you can select a better propeller.

Still interested of knowing if some one has the Suzuki on a 17 Whaler and which propeller and pitch works good.
I'm hoping to find a used one for a good price. New ones cost about $6-700.
The one I have know I will be able to change to another pitch but only alu.
I can mail a brand new Stiletto Advantage 4.25 for Suzuki, with hub kit, to you in Sweden for $350 USD. Not sure what, if any, import duty you would owe, but it would still be a much better deal than what you can get locally.

$300-350 is what I can get a used one for.
Stiletto advantage is about 4000-4500sek plus hubkit 500sek. $1 is about 6,7sek.
I might come back to you when I know how it runs with the alu prop I have now.
