Hi all , its been a while but i have a question. I just got a 2007 30 hp tohatsu EFI, I don't have the remote control yet but I want to get it running so i can winterize it. Too difficult to pull start it, great compression or I'm just getting too old. Would it cause any problem if i jump start it by going directly to the starter . With all motors being computerized today i don't want to take any chances.
Going directly to the starter is only going to get the starter to crank the engine, it won't run without the control box/key connected to the engine harness.
Since the engine is EFI, there are no carbs to drain. But the EFI is a sealed system so the current fuel in there isn't exposed to air. If you're unable to run it to get stabilized fuel in there, it's not nearly as bad as it used to be with a carb set up.
Pull the spark plugs and spray the fogger into each cyl while manually turning the flywheel, in order to distribute the lube around the whole cylinder wall.
