Just thought I would share my recent experience with Specialty Marine. Ordered a 13 ' sport interior for my restoration project. Talked to them on the phone, very easy going and knew their stuff. I placed the order and within a few days received an email with tracking info. A few days later the package arrives. It is packed very well and everything is in great shape. We did have a minor snafu with the anchor locker cover but that was resolved ASAP. I highly recommend them and their products. No affiliation just a happy customer.
I wish my experience was as good as yours. I'm not super happy with the varnish. It is very thin as to where i see wood grain, not a nice glossy look. I ordered a 13' Sport interior and the heads of the stainless screws on the console were mostly all stripped out. I did speak to Specialty Marine and he is sending me out new screws. I'm also not happy with the Bow hatch. I was expecting a nice piece of mahogany and when it arrived it was a light colored plywood veneer hatch. Not very nice. I spoke to SM about this and let him know that isn't what I thought i was buying... He basically told me I waited to long to open the box and they only cover returns for 30 days. I think the bow hatch is cheap and not what I expected or wanted...
I wish I would have spent the extra money with Nautical Lumber.
