Member Posts: 85 Comments: 0 Joined: 05/15/11	Look at the shift shaft that runs from under the power head to the lower unit. I believe it is exposed in a couple spots and was made of steel that year. They rust, get thin and twist. If it is the shift shaft, a company that makes a two piece stainless replacement. Takes about an hour to install.
