We are 20 miles east of the epicenter.
At first I thought it was the plow trucks (full size dump with front and wing plows) practicing their high speed runs down the neighborhood streets in preparation for snow. It lasted a full 20 seconds and the house was really rattling.
When I went outside, not a dump truck or sound. Must be an earthquake. Turns out it was. Oh well, maybe tomorrow the plows will come.
While the house, a 1920's bungalow, does shake when the plows come by (30 mph), this had a higher frequency and intensity.

I thought an airplane was about to crash land in my back field, or maybe a zombie appocalypse.

Phil, I was driving in snow on monday in Franconia notch. The plow trucks cranking down the road taking out your mail box are not that far away!

We felt it down here in Greater Boston, too. Don't wish winter here too quickly.

Let's just hope everyone's boat on the East Coast survives Sandy.
It has been my experience that Hurricanes do more damage to boats than earthquakes.

6.3 to 7.7 depends on who you read.
I was ready in my Whaler, just undid the hold down straps on my trailer and watched the game while sipping suds.
nothing much happened.
