My brother and i owne this 14 Rage with 50 hp Yamaha jet boat since 3 years run great goes every where even with only 4 inches of water witch is good here around Montreal. For no reason right in the middle of the river at about 1000 feets from rapids the engine stop and no way to start. we had to call the cost guard to go back at the dock. Since that the engine never start we look at all kind off possible trouble with gaz change everything we think off but nothing, no start. this engine ALWAYS start with a turn off the KEY during 3 years. We can 't find any drawing off this engine, seem to be rare and we dont know where is the fuel pump or is there is one! Anybody know this model. Sorry for my bad english!
Simple thing to check is the safety lanyard that you would attach to your belt. If it were pulled it shuts down the ignition system.
The next thing I would do is try spraying a small amount of starting fluid into the intake. If the engine starts and then stalls on the starting fluid then your problem is lack of fuel.
If the engine does not start on the starting fluid, then you have no spark or very low compression...
Hope this helps,

Norm was thinking same as me - safety lanyard check first - even if its hooked up they have gone bad. Next I would check for spark - if you do not know how to do this go to you tube - Im sure there is a video showing the process.
