Any suggestions on how to remove a frozen machine screw fastener from one of the bow rail stand-off fittings? I was able to remove 17 of them, but one is stuck and I am afraid of busting it off. This fastener appears to go through the hull into a metal plate on the outside of the hull, just beneath the rub rail.
This is a 1985 Montauk and I am the third owner. Some of the fasteners are Phillips head and other are straight head. I am not sure which are original but sure could use some tips how to pour some penetrating fluid into a horizontal placed fastener.
If it won't come out, you can drill the head off and then remove the parts. Once the parts are removed, you can try to get the bolt out that is screwed into the outer piece. If the bolt doesn't come out then, you can buy a new plate from CMI...
