new to whaler central, just lauched my first whaler, 94 / 19 outrage, not sure if i should be concerned or not, but here are the questions, is my whaler sitting to low in the water as the scuppers are below the water line, when docked boat appears to be sitting at or just above painted water line, when i board, i get about 2-3 inches of water in engine well, is this normal, the more people on board more water with my wife and two boys, 2 and 4 standing in stern water comes into cockpit, or are the scuppers bad and need to be replaced or is it what i fear most water in the hull that im not aware of looking for some input and direction, other details include 150 hp johnson 2001 and about 45 gallons of fuel, any input is appreciated
Getting water in the floor through the scuppers is fairly normal also but you should check your scuppers. Some scupper designs are better than others. The ping pong ball style works well from what I have heard.
My 1997 Outrage 17' always had a little water coming through the scuppers and in the cockpit.
Luckily, the water ran directly into the large fish well in the stern so it never bothered me or I would have tried changing my scuppers.
