Ran across this site today while looking for info on Whalers.
Wanted to introduce myself and say Hi.
Have had a 15-3 Striper for about 20 years now. It has been a very faithful companion on countless adventures around the Miss, Gulfcoast area. Many times it's taken more than I could, but I was a lot younger and reckless then. Still love the boat, but, 3 weeks ago, I stumbled across a 2007 190 Montauk with 80 hrs since new, long story short, I brought it home. The wife loves it as much as I do.
It the finest pure-no frills fishing machine I have ever seen.
With coastal island only 9 miles off the coast, it seems perfect.
It handles gulf waters as well as most 21-22 ft boats I've been in.
Have'nt fallen in love with anything this hard in a long time!
Anyway, I'm sure I can find tips and answers to questions here.
