i have a custom 1963 16'7" whaler with a 70 horse main and a 6 horse kicker. i know that these 6s came with a 8.25x8 pitch they also were available with a 8.25x5 pitch, with my 8 pitch the boat barely beats out a strong headwind @ 3/4 throttle, it was suggested to me that i find the 5pitch and get more torque so as to be able to troll 3 knots and control heading a bit better. any one have input? the 5 pitch is next to impossible to find, dealer does not stock any more and internet search has only fatigued my eyes. if you have a 5 pitch 3 blade i'd be interested. thanks love these boats
EDIT:
Changed the year of the motor to the full year = 1978 instead of 78
