I've got a 1988 outrage 18' with original twin Johnson 70 HP VRO engines and one engine tilt trim engine has a gremlin in it. The thing tilt's trims only when it wants to. The switch at the throttle seems to be working, because when the switch is activated you can clearly hear the "Click" at the engine. I do not have an engine manual for reference. I've had a mechanic look at it twice each time the "cleaned the connection" and fixed nothing. $$$$$
Any one have any ideas on what to check or do to isolate/fix this problem? Also, how do you raise and lower these manually? I've got the owners manual. It shows a screw and describes turning it one turn, but the actual engine has no such screw in the location shown on the picture.
Its no fun going to the boat and not knowing if I'll be operating one engine or two... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
