Does anyone else out there use earthnc.com? it is a nautical chart overlay of google earth. I have found it extremely useful in planning trip routes and determining distances. The also have available ramps, marinas, and bridges, etc. It shows wrecks/ other stuctures and weather.

P.S. It is free.

Looks handy, I use Garmin Homeport but that's because I can transfer tracks to my GPS

I use a program called OpenCPN and download the NOAA charts offline. Both are free, and they are the same content as the paper charts. I just like the feel of the NOAA charts.

Edit:
Just checked out EarthNC.com. I like it, thanks for that one.

It would be really nice if you could plot points on a huge trip so as you can come back to something when you get trapped on the farther sites that are the real nightmares for those who did not come prepared.

Though pulling of a Gulliver here would practically be impossible, it would still be nice to do just that. And that would be something that would be important to get to the parts where there is a great need to maintain distance on whale spots.
