Repowering 1996 20' Dauntless

Member Posts: 2 Comments: 0 Joined: 04/23/12	I have a 1996 20' Dauntless(Dual Console) that I bought 3 years ago with a 200 Mercury. This model in 1997 was changed to the Ventura. Mercury is done so trying to find out if a new 4 stroke 150 Yamaha is enough power for this boat. Any help would be appreciated. I got prices on the Yamaha F150 and F200. About $5,000 difference.

Max hp = 225 Min hp = 130 I think a 150 would be grossly underpowered...... I would stay with a 200......... In 1997, they still sold the Dauntless 20......... 1998 is when they changed to the Ventura 20 with the same exact HP ratings..... Edited by Joe Kriz on 04/23/12 - 4:33 PM
