Quick Question, has there been a discussion on painting and cosmetically restoring an Outboard? I have seen some down here, but nothing that looks ok. is it a worthwhile project?
I repainted my 1985 Evinrude this past winter with Tempo's Color match engine paint I bought at West Marine. I think it turned out great. I would take your time to sand a prep the motor before painting. The time spent in prepping will determine how well it turns out in the end. Be sure to use self etching primer on any bare metal. Also be sure to give the paint 4+ coats of clear coat to finish because of the salt water use.
