aluminum hawes pipes on 1984 outrage?

Member Personal Page Posts: 60 Comments: 0 Joined: 08/06/11	The aluminum hawes pipes on my 1984 boston whaler have some sort of clear coat on them. the clear coat is compromised in places and has corroded underneath. I removed the clear coat and corrosion by wetsanding and now have bare polished aluminum. My boat is a freshwater boat. Should I just put a coat of chrome polish on every year or should I recoat. Does anyone know the clearcoat that was used originally?
