TacklewareHouse.com just put this installation video up on their website and Facebook page. I was invited to go down to their San Luis Obispo, CA headquarters to film the Stern Saver installation video. I don't think I'll be the next Billy Mays or Offer Shlomi (ShamWow guy) but it's pretty informative and shows how easy it really is to install a Stern Saver.

I have enjoyed watching the clip.
I think that you are truly on to something here.
I have a couple of questions.
Is the unit on the clip the ONE size fits all
Or is there different shapes?
What are your price range?
Dealing through a second party only or are you selling yourself?

Dont lie
Dont Cheat
And dont give up..

ritzyrags- Thanks for the kind words and the feedback! The Stern Saver is perfect for Whalers because these boats outlast their electronics many times over. A thirty year old Whaler could have as many as five different fish finders mounted to it over it's life, maybe more. That could require a lot of holes to be drilled, which is no good. I have had three of Stern Savers on my boat for three years and wouldn't think of drilling another hole in my transom.

To answer your questions though:

-The Stern Saver in the video is the standard 4.5" X 3.5" X .75" size that fits pretty much all transducers, including the big StructureScan transducers.

-We can make custom Stern Savers as well, any shape or size.

-MSRP is $59.99 for the complete kit, all made in the USA. Block is made of genuine King Starboard, adhesive is a high strength (2000 psi) thickened epoxy and won't get brittle.

-We sell the directly at www.sternsaver.com Also, lots more info about the product on the website.

-They are also available at West Marine, Tackle Warehouse, Johnson Hicks, Star Marine Electronics, BOE Marine, Maritime Communications, and the Trolling Motor Doctor.

Ed-I asked the folks at King StarBoard and this is what they said, "That is a very good question. It is very difficult for barnacles to adhere to King StarBoardĀ®., but if not properly maintained at some point barnacles could attach to the KSB. No anti-fouling paint will stick to StarBoardĀ®."

Basically, you have to clean it off every once in a while.

One trick I learned, which I haven't tried, is lightly flaming the StarBoard with a torch and coating it with a thin layer of epoxy, then after that cures scuff it up and coat with anti-fouling paint. I would do this prior to mounting the Stern Saver to the boat. Since I have not tested that trick out yet, I cannot guarantee that it will work. StarBoard is pretty flame resistant, however too much heat could also ruin it.
