My engine on my 295 is stuck in the up position. I can't seem to get it down.

Is there a manual way to get it to lower and raise?

I heard maybe a screw I can release that will allow me to do this manually?

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Only one of the engines is affected. I can hear it trying to work so it's not an electric issue.

You don't mention the brand of engine but most have a screw on the starboard side of the engine bracket though a hole.

Have someone hold the lower part of the engine while you loosen the screw or it may fall too fast.

Before you lower it I would check the fluid level in the T+T motor. If it is like my Yamaha it is much easier to fill with the motor tilted up. The screw will let it lower but only muscle will lift it back up if it's out of fluid.

Start with the obvious and simple things first:

- Verify that the Tilt Lock Lever is not engaged.

If you need to lower the motor, you and do so by releasing the Manual Valve Screw located on the starboard side of the mounting bracket. Turn the valve screw counter clockwise to release the hydraulic fluid and the motor will begin to drop. Close the manual valve screw when the motor in the in position you want it to be.

You will not be raising it manually.
