I am looking at a set of used 2005 Yamaha LZ200TXRD counter rotation engines to re-power, replacing 1987 200hp's. How many hours are too many for an engine? If low rpm's make up a large amount of the total hours how much of a difference should this make? Are these something I should be considering? Thanks.
Maintenance records are more important than actual hours. If they have been well maintained and serviced they should be worth considering. How were they used? By an individual, on a rental boat, work boat, fishing boat? take all of these in consideration before making a decision, plus a compression test.
