Now time to address the general crowd of this side of the Whaler World.
I know that the Holidays have come and passed and that a lot of changes have been seen in this new MMXII year.
I have been beating off the path and looking hard for some of the riggings to redress the decking of my Classic.
Items such as the elusive Igloo 94 Marine cooler
The Cooler and back rest cushions lately ordered from good ole Harry at Halls.
Our friend Gary will be farming out some vintage console rod holders.
What are Whaler Buddies for?
Still looking for the Million and one piece necessary to get the puzzle solved.
Gone to great pains working on parts and re equipment lately?
Between the sobs and the fits of happiness lately, give us a retelling of your efforts.

I got my '74 Montauk in the fall of 2010 and began stripping it out, cleaning it up and formulating the plan of attack. I spent all of last winter working on the removed parts and wood in the garage and basement. This past summer here in the NE was absolutely horrible for working outdoors on a boat. It was either raining and blowing or ridiculously hot and humid. My project was for the most part in a hit and miss hold pattern.
My plan for this spring is to get it finished so I can start the task of re rigging in the hopes of floating it before the summer is over. It is a daunting task but once the GC is finished there should be very little holding me back. I do very much worry about the wiring because at present the only wires left run to the bow light and all others have to be replaced. Electric is a weak point for me. I think the motor is ready to run and the trailer is as good as new with all new parts.
I did buy one of those canopy type shelters that I will erect over the hull to give me better working conditions and allow for more time to be spent when the weather does not cooperate.
I can't wait to pull it to the lake for the maiden voyage and shakedown cruise.

1. Catch a 100#+ Tarpon off the beachfront in my Ourage 18.
2. Minor cosmetic touch up to the mahogany in my 61 Nauset. Possibly a new Mills bimini for her.

1. Finish re-coring the deck plate on Outrage
2. Replace fuel lines (fill, vent, and lines to motors)
3. Replace ground plate
4. Replace center console cleats (maybe raise) and repair wood coring on console behind cleats ( all termite
damage)
5. Replace cooler cleats
6. Re-wire center console
7. Install Command Mike black box radio
8. Clean fuel tank
9. Install rebuilt lower unit on port motor
10. Replace trailer bunks
11. Refinish all wood
12. Install RPS

100lb tarpon in Texas?? That got my attention. Let's see, Seattle to Galveston, pulling a 19' outrage. Hmmm. Where is this exactly?

I caught a 188 in Galveston 2 years ago. We catch A LOT (big ones too) every summer from July 4th through the middle of October.

My first time on a Montauk. Plan to catch Barracuda, SandBass and more this summer on Southern California off shore. I just finished redoing the whole boat, engine, electric, compass, fish finder and lots of stuff. Spent around 3 months to finish and lots of $$$, I could buy a better one but then I don't have so much fun doing all by myself, now if something going wrong I now know how to fix it, even paint the whole boat myself. 3 months and a lot of reading forum can help you so much and save a lot of $ too.
