Decided to go with a side mount control for my new console. Will this fit and can it be flipped to be mounted on the starboard side of the console?

Keven -

You should be looking for a 703 side mount throttle. I do not recognize that unit.

The key component are the connectors on the throttle and your engine harnessess. There are several versions that look identical. It is important to match the connectors.

I am more familiar with this example:

That control is a flush mount. That mean the only thing you will see is the handle. If i had a bet that is for a Yamaha Jet boat. I have no idea if you the ends would fit the control box or if you could even buy ends for your current cables. That would be a question for a parts dealer. I am pretty sure that you could not flip it around. That is made to mount behind the side gunnel beside the seat. I do not think you could flip it to mount to the right side of the console.

Like phil said. look for the 703 side mount control box rather than a flush mount.

Yeah I am looking for something flush though mount though, I dont want the box/cables just bolted to the outside of the console.

I installed a chrome Morse T3 top-mount during my rebuild. Found it on e-bay for, if I remember correctly, $150.

That unit only controls one cable. You need one for throttle and gear selection.

How about a Yamaha 704 binnacle mount?

I don't think that would work as you would need a shifter and a throttle lever. Search DUAL LEVER SIDE MOUNT MARINE ENGINE CONTROLS 60053 on e bay it is kinda the same thing but with two levers. one for forward reverse and the other for throttle

I just purchased a new 704 premium binnacle online for $250.00. Sounds like alot but if you are repowering spend a few extra bucks on good controls. Nothing worse than to have to keep returning shifters that don't work or are corroded from salt. Only my opinion. This was for a F90 4 stroke.
