50HP is not a popular outboard for a whaler, too big for the 13 foot and most folks go 60HP or 70HP on the 15 footer
What model do you plan to use the engine on?
Kamie...Sorry to hijack the thread but question on your 50HP comment. Rebuilding a '66 16-7 for the Scouts and she has a dead ~ 2000 Honda 50 on the back that I need to revive. Dealer in Long Beach says it is a fine motor for the boat but gotta believe it will be pretty doggy...but it is the bird in hand. In your experience...way too small? Seems like it will get way too much WOT time. Luckilly much time is spent chasing sabots around Alimitos Bay so for that it is great.
Whatcha think?
Did you get your Ev 30 going on your 13? Love mine!
