I'm looking to repowering my 19' outrage and just wanted to check on the right shaft length. I know that the classic 18' Outrages use a 25" shaft so I'm assuming that my boat would use the same?

Thanks.

I have the same boat, and it uses a 20" engine, either for single or twins. Here is mine:

The boat has an old fashioned shallow transom, designed before the current BIA bolt pattern came out, so be careful on the engine installation. If done so that the bottom bolts come into the splashwell, your new engine will end up being installed about 1-1/2" high, so a perfromance SS prop will most likely be needed. My installation is shown in the photos.

pretty simple measurement that people do not know. measure from the top of the transom to the keel. It will be 20 or 25 inches. I found out by accident when I decided to raise mine. I just did not put the two together until I pulled the tape on it.
