I recently acquired an 85 15 Super Sport with an 84 50 hp Johnson with a matching remote control ( single lever throttle,Forward/neutral/reverse,engine tilt and trim), part number 0394486. Someone tried to steal the motor before I bought it and cut the electric control cable that runs from the remote to the engine. All I have left is a 1" piece that sticks out from the remote, they evidently unplugged the cable under the the engine hood.
This cable is listed as unavailable from several parts folks. The number is 0393129 and fits several size motors from 83 to 89. So far I haven't seen one on Ebay and am wondering if anyone has any suggestions. I would even replace the entire unit if I could find one.
If worse comes to worse I could build my own harness as all the wires are color coded but would like the plug that fits the one under the engine hood. Once again does anyone have a source or suggestion?

I believe your looking for CDI Marine Part # 413-9915 which fits Evinrude/Johnson 1984 40HP & 50HP outboards. CDI Marine makes a lot of cables for the older outboards. You should be able to get it thru your local Evinrude dealer or call CDI marine direct 1-800-467-3371
