You are right, I am talking about the steering drum using cable and pulley steering setup and would very much like if the said part(s) could come from a sister boat. I also considered what you suggested, for which suggestion I thank you, but as i am not in a hurry I shall wait a bit longer.
Thank you for your lead. I am searching for the steering drum on eBay almost daily. It's such a nice boat, that I am going to wait until I find the right part. Sailing on small catamarans gave me a better understanding of the forces involved with the small craft, so I am fully confident that the cable over pulley steering system is the way to go.
