I have a new console and a new windshield. Anyone know how far down from the console top to drill the mounting holes for the windshield?

thanks

kamie,

The holes for the windshield on my Outrage 18' with standard console are 1 1/2 inches down from the top of the console.

One more windshield mounting question. I have the well nuts and the bolts but not sure how things fit together. Any words of wisdom would be helpful before I start drilling holes.

Thanks

kamie,

The well-nuts take a 3/8 inch hole in the console I believe. (double check this)
I would drill the front 3 holes first. Put the well nuts in, and then mount the windshield temporarily.
The well-nuts will actually move the windshield forward slightly, that's why I recommend this.
THEN, mark the mounting holes on the sides of the console.
Remove the windshield and drill the side holes and install the well-nuts....

Then mount the windshield... The bolt has a finish washer, then a flat washer, and then of course the plastic bushing that fits in the hole of the windshield. These bolts don't have to be too tight.
Just enough to expand the inside of the well-nut so they don't pull out.

3/8 is the correct size. The screws I got with the package are not long enough to go thru the finish washer and the flat washer so I will get longer ones.
